There are many different professions that require people to frequently relocate over the course of a career, but this is most prevalent in military and government jobs. The seven uniformed branches of the United States government are often called upon to deploy in unique and exotic locations, and this can wreak financial havoc if expenses pile up on a family or individual. There are seven different uniformed branches of the United States military that commission officers and fall under the direct control of the President. These include the traditional divisions of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard, but also two other agencies - the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Corps (NOAA) and the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps (PHSCC). The main difference is that the NOAA Corps and the PHSCC do not offer enlisted ranks or warrant officers - every member is a commissioned officer with military pay grades.
The NOAA Corps consist of a limited amount of personnel, and saw its most extensive service during World War I and II. These officers are highly trained in the earth sciences, including oceanography and meteorology among many other specialized skills. Experts are often required to relocate to bases that have NOAA aircraft and ships, including places like Hawaii, Massachusetts and California. Since these states are so distant from one another, world moving services can help transport personal items onto a base or separate residence.
Members of the PHSCC are much more relaxed than their brethren in the NOAA Corps because they are not required to operate heavy vehicles. However, their medical tasks are just as important. The PHSCC's main goal is to prevent outbreaks of deadly diseases and identify risk factors that can contribute to such disasters, including the regulation of cosmetics and medicines.
Since the PHSCC collaborates with so many other institutions, they often provide officers who deploy with the Coast Guard, CIA and other federal organizations. This means PHSCC officers can relocate to anywhere in the world where a disease needs research. In this situation, moving services and van lines can do all of the heavy lifting and let these professionals focus on saving lives rather than the schematics of an international move.
