Direct Energy will need an international moving company
April 13, 2012
Direct Energy, a leading energy supplier has announced that it will relocate its corporate headquarters from Toronto to Houston in 2012. This move is expected to create 200 jobs, while streamlining operational costs.
Direct Energy services over six million customers in every Canadian province, 46 American states and Washington, DC. The company's move promises to help boost Houston's economy. In an Interview with CBS Houston, mayor Annise Parker stated, "Direct Energy is a perfect fit in Houston since we are the nation’s energy hub, but more important are the new jobs being created here."
Corporate relocation companies offer lump sum and full service options to clients as well as on site management and pre-moving workshops. Corporations following Direct Energy's lead should consider relocation professionals that offer support for customs and residency documents to reduce stress for workers.
Direct Energy's international change of address bodes well for those concerned about unemployment rates and may prove to be a model for other large energy companies. As Direct Energy prepares for the moving van lines, it is also setting itself up to be successful at its new home in Texas.
