Stevens Worldwide Van Lines is teaming up with Move For Hunger, and the Saginaw Kroger Marketplace at 4672 State Street to fight hunger. The three organizations will be hosting a food drive on Saturday, April 28th from 10AM to 2PM with the goal of filling an entire moving truck with food for the community’s hungry.
Proceeds from the food drive will be sent to the City Rescue Mission of Saginaw as well as the Ecumenical Food Pantry at First Presbyterian Church of Saginaw.
“We are thrilled to be a part of this food drive with the help of Move For Hunger and Kroger,” said Stevens’ President and Chief Operating Officer, Lindsay Stevens-Eggers. “Knowing that one in six people in the U.S. go to bed hungry each night is a hard truth to realize. We feel that it’s our duty to help out and provide for the community where we can; this food drive provides a perfect opportunity for us to do that.”
Stevens Worldwide Van Lines will donate all boxes and their services to ensure the food donations are safely delivered to the food banks.
Employees from Stevens will be on-site for the duration of the food drive to hand out fliers and shopping lists as well as encouraging Kroger customers to donate non-perishable food items.
